Syaoran had no real parents. The very last thing he remembered was he was found on the streets by an archeologist named Fujitaka Kinomoto. He adopted Syaoran and moved to the Clow Kingdom. Syaoran was able to enjoy his life as a child without hardships from that day on. While he was living in the Clow Kingdom, he met Sakura because Fujitaka and Clow Reed had became friends. Similarly to Cardcaptor Sakura, Syaoran didn't like to smile and didn't talk a lot. And so, Sakura promised her father that she would open up his heart and change his entire personality. With that, Syaoran learned to smile and accepted the beauty of life. As he grew up, he wanted to be like his father. So, he became an archeologist years later. He would always be busy excavating the ruins outside the Kingdom of Clow so Sakura and him didn't spend a lot of time with each other ever since. Also, he had fallen in love with Sakura but he is unwilling to confess his feelings to her because he was afraid that their differences would jeopardize their love relationship (Syaoarn's a commoner and Sakura's a princess). One fateful day, Sakura lost all of her memories and he vowed to protect and regain her memories before it's too late. Hence, Syaoran sets off to an adventure to look for Sakura's feathers while suffering over his loss of Sakura's love for him. He was willing to do anything to save his Sakura.
