The
ever so popular manga artists, called CLAMP, are the creators of Cardcaptor Sakura and Tsubasa Reservoir
Chronicles! They are a group of women who are manga artists from Kansai region
of Japan. They're not only popular in Japan but are very well-known here in
North America. Before all of this happened, CLAMP only released doujnish (fan
comics) for local teenagers and youngsters. Then, the publishers took notice of
their artistic ability and their creativity and decided to give them a promotion
of becoming manga artists. There were eleven of them at first, however,
most of them were not needed during the production. So this 'huge' group of manga artists contained
only four members in the end. Each woman concluded that working in a group of four
was a simpler way of organizing their works. The members are responsible for many different types of jobs in
their manga production. Their first manga was released in 1989 called "RG
Veda." It was very, very successful so they decided to release another
manga called "Magic Knight Rayearth" which I assume that most
of you had heard of. After the second release of their works, they continued to
create more series like Cardcaptor Sakura, Chobits, and
XXXHolic which, in the end, became extremely popular in North America. They
haven't retired yet and they're still working today to release more mangas for
their fans.
