Touya is Sakura's older and overly protective brother. He's always working at his part-time jobs and somehow always bump into Sakura along the way. He attends Seijou High which is right beside Sakura's elementary. He enjoys teasing Sakura by calling her a 'monster.' Touya despises Syaoran at the beginning because of the way he treats Sakura. However, when Syaoran begins to fall in love with Sakura, Touya feels as if he is taking Sakura away from him which intensifies his hate towards Syaoran. Touya (in the original series) was Kaho's boyfriend; however they split up because she needed to fly to England to continue her educational studies (or so it seems).

Touya has some magical powers. His powers are having the ability to see ghosts/spirits or dead people (like his mother). Later on, Yukito becomes extremely important to Touya and gives up his powers to help save him from disappearing. He also knows that Sakura and her card capturing adventure, but he pretends he doesn't know. Many people have said that Touya is in love with Yukito and that is the reason why he is always so attached to him. But really, they have been best friends for a while that Touya feels that he is responsible for his best friend.
