People thought that Cardcaptor Sakura and Cardcaptors were two separate animes.
Why is that so? Here are some reasons:
-
The cute, adorable voice of Sakura in Cardcaptor Sakura made her seem like a really
sweet and friendly girl. However, in the dubbed version, Sakura's voice seemed
to be much harsher and it was difficult to figure out her personality.
- The
characters' personalities in the dubbed version are
different.
- The
character names have changed. For example, Tomoyo's name has
become into Madison. And Syaoran Li's name turned into Li
Showron.
-
I'm pretty sure you guys went ballistic when the dubbed version cut all the
cute scenes with Sakura and Syaoran. =/
- The
dubbed version also cut off Kero's Corner! Well, most of it
anyway. They practically
deleted that section and replaced it with Clow Cards descriptions. Not that
it wasn't helpful, but hey, it'd be nice to have Kero as the center of
attention once in a while.
- The dubbed version cut a lot of episodes and they mixed
it all up. By doing so, the storyline is completely messed up. For the
Europe version, it wasn't. For North America, it was.
- Many relationships aren't shown too much at the dubbed
version. For example, Rita and Tereda.
- The
Japanese version of the series is called Cardcaptor Sakura and the dubbed
version is called Cardcaptors.
-
Cardcaptors changed the script and the conversations between Sakura and Syaoran
and among many other parts in the series.
-
Different music was noticeable throughout each series. Cardcaptor Sakura had really cute music. As for Cardcaptors,
it made it seem like the anime was created by the Americans with all the
professional effects and music. -
The order of episodes in Cardcaptors were altered which confused everybody.
